Cranston (トキオ, Tokio) is a lazy ostrich villager who first appeared in New Leaf. His name is likely a reference to the crane. His Japanese name, Tokio, may derive from 朱鷺 (toki, the Japanese name for the crested ibis, which he resembles) and/or Tokyo, the capital of and largest city in Japan, given his color scheme's resemblance to the Japanese flag

He has pinkish-orange feet and his tail consists of white feathers graduating to peach. He initially wears the lotus tee. He carries the maple umbrella on rainy days.

He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, like when fishing. Cranston will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a conflicting lifestyle of exercise and fitness, compared to the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food. He will get along with other lazy villagers with whom he will talk about food, comics, or superheroes. He will also get along well with normal, peppy, smug, sisterly and other lazy villagers, and occasionally cranky villagers, but may from time to time annoy snooty villagers, who disagree with the lazy lifestyle.
