Feng Shui (风水) is a system used originally by the Chinese to increase their luck, happiness, or wealth placing certain items in certain areas of their homes. Feng Shui is a feature in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, in which there are three different ways you can improve your life as Mayor or as another villager in your town in the game.
Your overall luck in the game is decided randomly, but if Katrina is in your town, you will be able to find out your overall luck for 500 bells, as well as a lucky item that you may wear throughout the day to increase your luck.
Colors[]
The three ways of Feng Shui are based on what color an item is. The colors are yellow, red, and green. Below are the benefits of using these colored items in your home when placed in the proper area.
- Yellow: Increases wealth (you will be able to find more money in-game this way)
- Red: Increases quantity (you will find more items, and if used with yellow, will find more valuable items)
- Green: Increases overall luck (better chances of getting rare stumps, finding rare items, etc.)
As you can see, these can impact your gameplay on various different levels, and are very useful when you are in need of some luck. Using these tools, we can now properly place the colored items in your home to help you to achieve a more favored side of the game.
Placing Items[]
When placing your items, it's important to remember that not all spaces have to be filled.
You can simply have one yellow item in one area, one red item in one area, and one green item in another. Not all of the spaces shown below need to be filled with a certain color of item. Below, you will find a guide to the placement of your items, depending on the size of the room that you are wanting to "hit it big" with.
Please take the time to notice that there are some spaces that have two different colors. This simply means that you are welcome to place an item of either color and you will still achieve the luck you are wishing to get. The white spaces mean that you aren't required to put any special colored item in that spot in order to obtain luck.
