7-Eleven Item Sets[]

Eleven different items were released in Japan from December 1, 2012 to May 9, 2013 and could be downloaded if a player brought their 3DS to a 7-Eleven wirelessly. These items were the first promotional items based on a real company. The 7-Eleven DLC series was split into two different sets, consisting of five items each, and none of the ten items are reorderable from the catalog. The ten different items in order of distribution are:

  1. 24-hour-shop sign (December 1-6, 2012)
  2. 24-hour-shop model (December 7-13, 2012)

The 11th item, the clerk's shirt, was an accidental release by Nintendo, and was available on March 1, 2013 for a short amount of time. It may or may not be related to the 7-Eleven items, however, the 24-Hour-Shop Uniform, which is also a shirt, was released at the same time. Unlike the normal 7-Eleven items, the clerk's shirt can be purchased from the catalog.

Rainbow Screen[]

The first DLC item distributed in other regions around the world outside of Japan and South Korea (as well as in the two countries) was the rainbow screen, which was available for download June 1 to June 30, 2013.

Game Mania Nintendo Zone DLC[]

From June 14 to September 30, 2013, European players can connect to a Nintendo Zone hotspot at a Game Mania store to obtain seven DLC items. Some are exclusive, while others are already items in-game. These, unlike the 7-Eleven and Campus Stationery DLC in Japan, do not promote the store.

Players also discovered that going to Game Mania was not required to get the items. You may also change your SSID on your Internet router to "_The Cloud" (without quotes). Make sure your 3DS is disconnected from the actual name of your router, and reconnect it to the router with the new SSID. If done correctly, you will be alerted that you are in a Nintendo Zone, and instead of launching the Nintendo Zone app, start up New Leaf and follow the same procedure as getting normal DLC. This will work for European 3DS systems only.

Three of the seven items have already been distributed, and the fourth item is available for download now. In release order, the items are:

  1. raccoon wall clock (June 14-30, 2013, this is the same item as the tanuki wall clock DLC in Japan)
  2. shaved-ice lamp (July 1-14, 2013)
  3. white police cap (July 15-31, 2013)
  4. festival lantern (August 1-14, 2013, is already an in-game item)
  5. red-team cap (August 15-31, 2013, is already an in-game item)
  6. afternoon tea set (September 1-14, 2013)
  7. double-neck guitar (September 15-30, 2013, currently available)

Best Buy Nintendo Zone DLC[]

From June 16 to August 10, 2013, players in North America were able to connect to Nintendo Zone hotspots at Best Buy and receive four exclusive DLC items. These are also not promotional items, and do not bear Best Buy's logo in any of the four items.

Similarly to the Game Mania SSID trick, North American players could change their router SSID to "Bestbuy" (without quotes) to get the Best Buy DLC from their home. This works on North American 3DS systems only.

The items in order of their distribution are:

  1. raccoon wall clock (June 16-29, 2013)
  2. cat tower (June 30-July 13, 2013)

Fireworks Table[]

The third monthly SpotPass item downloadable for most regions is the fireworks table, which can be downloaded all of August 2013, or August 1 to August 31, 2013. The table is themed around the fireworks shows that are on display every Sunday of August.

Aug.-Sept. 2013 Nintendo Zone DLC[]

North Americans are able to receive three different items at any Nintendo Zone hotspot from August 11 to September 21, 2013. The "Bestbuy" SSID trick that could be used previously to download the Best Buy DLC may also be used for this DLC.

The first of the three items is currently being distributed. The release order of the items is:

  • pumpkin pie (August 11-24, 2013; also obtainable from the Harvest Festival)
  • afternoon tea set (August 25-September 7)
  • "Machine for Frozen Drink", also known as the slushie machine (September 8-21, 2013, currently available)

Full-Moon Vanity[]
