Monique (ジェーン, Jane) This villager is particularly snooty. A few famous actresses have the name Monique, which gives reason to believe that she has this name in reference to them. It should also be noted that Monique is a French name that means "advisor." Snooty characters tend to "advise" you, telling you if you're doing something wrong in their opinion. Her catchphrase, Pffffft," is the sound made when not caring, similar to sighing. She tends to be over-dramatic and when she's not very considerate of others

Appearance

Monique's facial appearance bears a resemblance to Marilyn Monroe's, specifically to the pose portrayed in ThePop Art piece by Andy Warhol. Further supporting this is her blonde hair, red lipstick, and beauty mark on the left side of her mouth. She also wears purple eye shadow and claims she has blush from Ms. Nintendique. Her body is mostly white, save for her tail which is striped in gold. Monique's eyebrows are arched elegantly as if she were judging someone. She initially wears the Grape Shirt.

Personality

Monique has a snooty personality, which means she will appear arrogant and snobbish towards the player and other villagers. She will however appear civil in some discussions, provided they are mature and appeal to her own tastes. She finds aesthetics very important and will get angry or upset if someone criticizes her sense of style or physical fitness, which means a conversation between her and a jock villager may leave either parties upset or angry. She may not get along with lazy villagers, due to their differing lifestyles. Lazy villagers having a strong interest in food and relaxing which will make her uncomfortable, angry, or disturbed during conversation. She will agitate peppy and normal villagers, usually by gossiping about them and finding small things to judge them on. She will get along well with cranky and other snooty villagers. Sometimes their encounters end with both cranky/snooty villagers happy! Her attitude towards the player will change as she begins to warm up to them but she will still retain some of her arrogance and subtle rudeness. She passes on the catchphrase you make for her and the nickname she gives you to other cranky and snooty villagers. If she gets sick, she will refer to you as her "only friend."

House[]

Monique's house is decorated with the Lovely Series, having almost every object except for a Lovely Loveseat; she instead has the Cream Sofa. She owns no Gyroids. She has a Ceramic Tile floor and Groovy wallpaper and will play K.K. Swing if she has a stereo.
