Redd is a red fox or a kitsune (狐) in Japanese folklore with slanted eyes and a blue lap apron. In New Leaf, he stays in a green tent with a Ginko leaf logo periodically in the town plaza called "Art gallery" selling four exquisite artifacts, (paintings and sculptures) which can be donated to Blathers. He's known to call his customers "cousin" and brag about the authenticity of his products. If you try to sell fake art, it won't work and you will be charged with a disposal fee.
Occasionally, Redd may also man seasonal establishments such as a cookie stand during New Leaf's Fireworks Show where tickets from Redd's Cookies can be redeemed for prizes.
